Real Estate Authority
The Real Estate Authority is the regulatory body for the real estate industry introduced when the Real Estate Agents Act 2008 was established. The Real Estate Authority (REA) is the independent government regulatory body for the real estate industry in New Zealand and their role is to promote a high standard of service and professionalism in the real estate industry. Their purpose is to promote and protect the interests of consumers buying and selling real estate, and to promote public confidence in the performance of real estate agency work.
Richardsons Real Estate is licenced under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008 (REAA) and therefore our Agents, Branch Managers and Licensed Salespeople are bound by the rules and regulations set out in the REA - Code of Conduct 2012 Further information on the Authority can be found on their website: www.rea.govt.nz
Approved GuidesThroughout the process of buying or selling residential property, keeping you informed is integral to our business. To ensure you have the information you need two approved guides have been developed to support you at the two important stages – buying or selling; an agency agreement guide and a sale and purchase agreement guide. You must be provided with printed copies of these guides by your agent, the only exception to this being if you reside out of town or overseas. In that case, your agent will refer you to the relevant approved guide information and you will be required to provide written acknowledgment, for example by email, that you have been provided with this information. You must sign an acknowledgement that you have received these guides. |
