About Ngatea

"Flat Out and Loving It! - The Hub of the Plains"

Ngatea was established in the early 1900's as a service centre to the farming community and continues to be so to this day.

The Hauraki Plains is the Northern Gateway to the Coromandel Peninsula and the Bay of Plenty. We are situated on State Highway 2, approximately 1 hour to fantastic beaches and cities on all boundaries.

We sit on a through road from Auckland to the Bay of Plenty and attract the everyday passing New Zealander and a lot of overseas tourists. We have a great deal to offer visitors from cafe's to accommodation and from Water Gardens to an International Hockey Sports facility. Along with the relaxed country atmosphere is a thriving and growing community.
